Hot on the heels of the Points Plane, which The Good Flight team secured seats on earlier this month, Qantas has announced a promotion offering 18-35-year-old Economy travellers free lounge passes, alongside free registration for the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.
While commentary on the promotion thus far has centred around the carrier trying to attract young travellers towards the Qantas Club, I see it more as a way to secure sales at the lower end of travel’s most competitive class. For many young travellers price is the deciding factor but I think the option to relax in the Business Class lounge before take off will entice flyers away from cheaper options.
To take advantage of the free lounge pass offer, simply register before booking an Economy seat on any international Qantas-operated flight with a QF flight number by 31 August 2019 for travel between 1 June 2019 and 29 February 2020, as long as you book at least 7 days prior to travel and include your QFF number in your booking. Then ensure you link your complimentary lounge pass to your flight via your online QFF account.
Applicants are limited to one free lounge pass per person during the promotion period and it can only be used in an Australian Qantas Lounge prior to departure. Sorry, no showers at the Qantas Hong Kong or Singapore Lounge!
